Currently, we are trying to get into the Montpelier Winter Market and then the regular outdoor market next year. Look for us in local stores soon as well!

Here's a great shot of Candace and Melinda staffing the table, which we got MANY compliments on. We got such positive and valuable feedback at this show, which is exactly what we need as we continue to change and develop products.

<![CDATA[We're a Hit!]]>Wed, 10 Dec 2008 16:58:22 +0700http://www.florabotanicals.com/2/post/2008/12/were-a-hit.htmlWe have had our first official Third Party review, and the feedback is tremendous! I can't explain how psyched we are to hear great things about our products, not only because of how proud we are and how hard we have worked, but because we feel GREAT knowing that our line of products is helping other people.

You can read the article online here, and we've reproduced it below:

Flora Botanicals Review

I recently had a great opportunity through MomFuse and Flora Botanicals to review some handmade body products. To which I was super excited to try! See, I love all things natural and good for my body. And throughout this pregnancy my skin has been getting drier and drier. But I refuse to use conventional lotion that contains chemicals and phthalates in them! So let's just say, my skin was super excited too!

They sent me a sample size jar of the Mama Belly Love moisturizer, and in all honesty, I was hoping it was great. Cause my belly is getting itchy! And even though I didn't get any major stretch marks last time, I'd like to do what I can to help my skin stretch in a decent manner. I guess maybe I'm hoping if I love it, it will return the favor and not give me tiger strips!

The first thing I noticed about the Mama Belly Love was the new packaging. They are in the process of moving all their products over to this new amber colored jar, and it's quite pretty. I was slightly concerned with the thickness of it, but it surprised me and went on very smooth. As an added bonus, you don't need a lot at all! A little bit goes a long way. I love the way it felt and soaked in. It was definitely moisturizing. And best of all, it stopped the itching! I now can tell when I forget to put it on as the itching returns. I will definitely want to use this through the rest of my pregnancy!

They also sent me some Orange Ginger Body Whip. This stuff smells good enough to eat, and I was surprised at how whipped it is. It's light and creamy and goes on great! It does take a few minutes to kind of soak in, so I found it best to apply right after the shower when I then get ready for a few minutes before I dress. This stuff made my legs so smooth though, they felt great all day long!
We also got a jar of Boo Boo Bum Balm to try out and at first I was a bit disappointed that my little guy didn't have any redness to try it out on. But, a few days later, I got a chance to see how it worked! The application of it was quite smooth and it had a pleasant scent compared to the thick white diaper rash creams you find in the store. Plus, the extra bit left on my fingers I just rubbed into my own hands as moisturizer instead of having to find a towel to get the white stuff off. I applied a thin layer over all of the redness and by the next day, it was almost gone! I will definitely be using this over and over again. And it beats all the other 'natural' rash ointments I've tried too!

I'm also really looking forward to trying out the Post-Partum Comfrey Sitz Baths when our new little girl joins our family. And this time around, I'm going to be prepared and most likely order up some more! My first pregnancy no one bothered to mention to me that I may not be able to sit right for a month, so I didn't have anything like this in the house. Now I know better! But these bags (they come 2 in a package) have a generous amount of product in them and they smell great. Come April, I'll update you on how I thought they worked.

All in all Flora Botanicals is a great company, run by Candace, Melinda, and Mary, and I love the fact that I don't need to worry about chemicals and preservatives in the products. All of the products are made with 100% natural ingredients, many of which are organic. Plus they hand make all of the products in small batches to insure quality and freshness. And their natural products work great!

<![CDATA[How to Pamper Yourself at Home]]>Sat, 22 Nov 2008 18:28:26 +0700http://www.florabotanicals.com/2/post/2008/11/how-to-pamper-yourself-at-home.htmlYou would think pampering yourself would be an easy thing, but life can often get in the way of taking time to treat yourself right. Kids, work, school, home, pets, money, family, life! You give so much, sometimes you need to take a couple of hours and just concentrate on yourself. You may not have the time or money for an expensive day at the spa, but you can still give yourself five star treatment at home. As a matter-of-fact, I did that for myself just this evening, and here's how you can do it, too.

First, get rid of everybody. Wait until kids are asleep, tell the hubby to go watch a movie, and turn off your phone. No interruptions is key.

Make your bathroom your sanctuary. Light candles in 4-5 places, and if you have very light music you can play, have that in the background.

Draw a nice hot bath.

Lay out towels, robes, slippers, clothes, with the towel nearby for when you step out of the bath.

Set out your pampering supplies! Bath soaks are wonderful, and of course you'll want a Flora Botanicals Sugar Scrub to slough off dead skin and reveal that new skin waiting below. (Don't wash the remaining oils off right away or at all so your skin can soak up the oils as you soak in the tub. Be careful and make sure you have firm footing in the tub and getting out of the tub if you still have oils on your body!) Make any razors, loofahs, soaps, etc easily accessible. Have a book or magazine nearby, and a bath pillow or rolled up hand towel to rest your head on if you like.

Once your supplies are set up, turn down the lights if you wish to relax by solely candle light, and slip into the tub. Don't think about anything except what you are going to do to pamper yourself next!

If you haven't already poured in your bath soaked or dropped in your bath bomb, do that now. Continue to soak and think about how great it feels to be alone and soaking in the tub.

Once you've soaked a several minutes, it's a good time to rub that sugar scrub all over your tired hands, feet, legs, arms, and anywhere else you want to invigorate your skin. Rub gently in a circular motion for about a minute in each area, longer for really tough spots. Rinse off the scrub, leaving just the oils to soak in or wash off the oils if you prefer. Again, careful not to slip in the tub or getting out of the tub if you've chose to leave the oils on to soak in to your skin.

Shave, loofah, or just sit and relax. Now would be a great time to dry your hands and reach for that book or magazine. If the water is getting too cold, run a little more hot water. Did you by any chance bring in a glass of wine or champagne to indulge in while you soak? Grab a sip if you are inclined!

Once you've had your fill and are ready to return to reality, slip on that robe or wrap that towel around yourself. If you still have oils on your skin, pat dry and before you put on the clothes you laid out for yourself, moisturize with a Flora Botanicals Body Whip. For really dry skin, layer with Flora Botanicals Mama Belly Love. Our Mama Belly Love is so skin nourishing it can be used for especially dry areas, not just on a mama belly!

Now, see if you can talk your partner into a back rub before hitting the sack now that you're relaxed!!!

Repeat as often as you can - you deserve it!!
